National Feral Cat Day

* Dash checks notes and then pauses, staring out of the window thinking how fortunate a cat he is *

OK Guys, today is National Feral Cat Day - the day we ALL have to learn more about our brofurs and sisfurs who live the wild life. The main people who know the most about NFCD are Alley Cat Allies who work tirelessly to educate the ignorant and the uninformed.

Alley Cat Allies launched National Feral Cat Day® on their 10th anniversary in 2001 to raise awareness about feral cats, promote Trap-Neuter-Return, and recognize the millions of compassionate Americans who care for them.

Ferals are not bad, and all across the USA events are happening to educate people, fundraise for TNR (Trap Neuter Return) initiatives and to improve the lives of ferals.   Please, if you have a strong opinion one way or the other - check out the Alley Cat Allies site to see what is being done to help ferals, and promote understanding.

Highlights on the Alley Cat Allies page include
  • 'Get Inspired' - events and outreach, handouts in English and Spanish,
  • Use #NFCD2012 on Twitter to show your support and they have a Facebook page too.
  • Webinar upcoming on TNR (Trap-Neuter_Return) practices
Take a look, learn a little more about ferals - who they are and why they are there - ThankYou Alley Cat Allies.
